The Manohara Borobudur Hotel is the only hotel located within the
Borobudur temple complex.
The temple is reached through the
Manohara hotel private gate
and guests of the
Manohara Hotel do not pay to enter Borobudur.
The main reason for staying here is to get access to the
Borobodur complex after and before opening hours.
Sunrises are uplifting and sunsets spectacular.
The serenity of this World Heritage site before the tourist buses arrive is magical.
The 20 rooms are actually showing their age but manage to remain comfortable.
They are air-conditioned, have running hot water, and long bath tubs for soaking.
Note that most rooms do not have a view of the temple.
The rest of the
Manohara is furnished in classical Javanese style.
The restaurant has adequate food and service is a little slow.
But the view of the majestic
Borobodur while waiting for your coffee is priceless.
Most travelers only stay one night so the lack of a pool will not bother most.
